Haute Couture

You could only envy such breadth of imagination & creativity…

The word haute means high in French while the word couture means to sow, to create things. Combined, this phrase indicates the high fashion where each peace of clothes is made to fit the needs and measurements of the owner for whom it was designed. Christian Dior introduced this in 1947 with the launch of his new look. Celebrating the end of war and the birth of a new era, it set a standard fordressmaking and high fashion that has rarely been surpassed.
