Once you get exhausted from the work life and fast rhythm of the city, I highly recommend strolling down to the West Village – towards the Hudson River Park. Especially on the weekends, once the city gets silent and is not that crowded – you can start observing the still LIFE -
Walking from East Village on the 10th street (or anywhere below towards the south) as long as you go west and look towards the sky you can observe the colorful scenery -

In the Washington Square Park you can find the arch reminiscent of the Triumphal arch in Paris.

Walking further to the west the wonderful townhouses remind you of Paris or Florence.. Imagine that behind the window curtains that allow the Saturday sunlight to walk inside – there is a peaceful life blossoming – it should be quite and peaceful over there inside..

Looking towards this elegantly designed petite restaurant my thoughts transfered me directly back to Florence. And, of course, this appeared to be an Italian restaurant. Italian culture, deeply grounded in family values, great cuisine and style is really fascinating. The italian culture are one of those who know how to live and enjoy life to the fullest.
Then I realized that one of the most amazing aspects of New York City is the fact that there is nothing that defines it – it is a “conglomerate” of places and cultures – a cosmopolitan and metropolitan location where everything merges into a chaos – and at the same time the surroundings become an inspiration.
It is paradoxical – but at the same time this might be the reason why New York is so unique and why most of the world travellers find this place to be home – something that they can relate to on the deeper level – their personalities and mindsets are materialized within the streets and buildings of the city… You can definitely find anything here to enrich your need for stimulation and excitement. It is not just a chic and luxurious city – there is much more to it that one can relate to..

The colors of — i would say Florence — but then I step back and think — that perhaps not — perhaps it is here the way it should be and one should not compare or look for reminiscences to anything. I guess it depends on how you are looking and what for.

I like this photograph – It’s slightly sad that the city is unconscious about the context – how buildings are built without consideration of the locale – you can find such sacred places as small temples and churches placed within the skyscapers and always covered by the dust of the fast moving taxes. Because of this reason I believe, the city looses the spirit – the church – the people – the busy street life – the business buildings – everything creates a chaos – a chaos that has no spirit just fastness around it. A good friend of mine, very thoughtfully verbalized this speed “it is like watching a fast action movie – but on the core nothing is happening.”

But at the same time, if you are really looking around, you can find some true treasures – such as these amazing stairs – don’t they inspire you to climb up? But where is my white umbrella – perhaps I could just fly?

And here you go – another scene – imagine that – “gourmet sausage system.”

And on the way back – try to mingle within the streets – and here is what you might discover.
I was thinking a lot of what actually New York is. What is its core and foundation? At the end, I gave up and decided that it is unique in itself and should not to be questioned. There is nothing else that could compare to it. It is just the way it is with its minuses and pluses, and everything else is within it. It is like a miniature of the world…
I truely recommend visiting it!
